24 Nov Idaira (33 years old)
IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW TIME GOES BECAUSE SHE FULFILLS ALL HER DREAMS ✳️ Idaira is from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. From a very young age, she was clear about two things: her passion for karate (especially kata) and that when she grew up she would be a nurse.
KARATE WAS A GREAT CASUALITY
My love story with this martial art arises by chance, since I started with 4 years as an extracurricular activity, without even karategui, and the following year, my teacher D. Miguel Castro invited me to join his gym,

At the age of 7 he already had the brown belt, he competed in kata individually and as a team (Osaka), winning several competitions and participating in exhibitions such as the Championship of Europe 1997, held on the island. I got to be interviewed in various media!
I dedicated my first dan to my grandfather
For study reasons, I gave it up until I was 16 years old, at which point I took the exam to get the first dan, I got it and dedicated it to my grandfather. From then on, combine the different obligations with the training was complicated, so I focused on passing the Degree in Nursing and working as I always wanted, as a nurse.
Go back to training without so much competition
Over the years I had the desire to resume training in a more relaxed way, without so many demands, with the sole intention of being active, however, in 2017 I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, stopping my illusions, my routine … in short, destroying my life.

Since then, as a result of the extremely harsh (already chronic) treatments and surgeries, I have had numerous physical sequelae that have resulted in high physical disability and reduced mobility.
Harsh treatments and disability
All this situation has caused me a depressive state that prevents me from having a life considered normal. I have required a lot of psychological work.
Obviously, this experience forces you to rethink your life and reorganize your priorities, the greatest of which is my health, my self-care and my family.
Regarding health, my thoughts resounded louder and louder to return to karate, I assumed that adapted karate would exist. Life, by pure chance, made me meet another of my trainers, Mrs. Patricia Riquelme, who gave the last push to take the step, even in the same gym.
Fit of doctors to do karate
So, after being approved by my doctors, in September of this year I returned to the Osaka Club, feeling the same nervousness as the first day as a child. The feeling of returning from such a different perspective is curious.

The importance of the support of Senseis and colleagues.
I have two coaches, Mr. Victor Martín and Mr. Victor Baso, who care about my condition and from minute one made me feel at home, as if I had never left. And it is that, in the end, we all return to where we have been happy.
New goals that fill me with pride
Although I do not make long-term plans, my current objectives are: to compete again (this time, in Parakarate) and examine myself in 2nd degree, to continue adding achievements that at the time I gave for lost and proudly say that I am a nurse and a parakarateka.
Sorry for not having more current photos, that is why I am sending you the ones I love the most.
