FIRST PARA-KARATE COMPETITOR IN INDIA WITH VISUAL DISABILITIES ✳️ Despite his lack of funding and resources, thanks to the effort and all the support of his family, he can compete in international tournaments and become the image of Para-Karate in his country, his big dream.

Tarun Sharma is from Punjab, India, and at twenty-nine he is the first Indian Para Karate athlete. Despite his visual impairment, he is Shito Ryu Seiko Kai’s third dan and his teacher is Rajesh Joshi who works in the Punjab Police.

ONLY PARA-KARATE COMPETITOR IN INDIA

First Para-Karate competitor in India (visual disability)

He is the only parakarate competitor in India. At the age of six he began to practice karate and when he was 6 months old he had a paralysis. As a result of this, his left side is not working properly and his speech is not working properly either.

HUMBLE FAMILY THAT ALWAYS SUPPORTS YOU

There are four people in his family including him. His father Ram murti Sharma, his mother Mamta Sharma and his younger brother Shubham Sharma. His father works as a vegetable seller, his mother is a housewife and his brother is studying. He has done some part-time jobs with very low wages, but as he says “I belong to
a very poor family, but in spite of that I am studying art at the university making the last year of my degree “.

Support from family and friends is crucial

His hobbies are traveling, exercising, reading books, making music lists, the typical things of someone his age who also loves karate.

LACK OF AID AND FINANCING

The Indian government does not support me and I have a financial problem, since when I go to tournaments I do not have too many resources, but my family fully supports me and makes an economic effort so that I can participate in any competition in any country. For all this, I applied for a bank loan due to my travels through karate tournaments in foreign countries.
