02 Jul JONAS AMARAL (21 years old)

PRACTICING SEVERAL MARCIAL ARTS, IS THE SIXTH OF THE WORLD RANKING OF KARATE IN WHEEL CHAIR CATEGORY ✳️ This time is our Brazilian friend Jonas, tells us how he started his story with the Para-Karate. It’s surprising how skilful he is and how fluid he works, and without crutch support, having an amputated leg.
But more surprising that in international competitions we see him in a wheelchair because his category does NOT exist, as also happens to other competitors… I hope, WKF that although we seem repetitive, you will get to work on a regulation that besides obsolete is exclusive, unfair and lacks categories… has anyone asked competitors, in case they want and can compete without a chair, about whether or not they like to compete like this?… We ignored the answer…
Debates aside, this is the story of Jonas, overcoming and many knowledge of martial arts although he eventually stayed with karate-Do.
I HAD A LEG AMPUTATED BUT I REBORN AGAIN
**Jonas Amaral , was born on December 13, 1998 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the age of 15, he suffered a life-changing accident: “August 31, 2009 was the date it all happened and due to a “peripecia” I ended up being aimed at and fired with a gun and I was shot eight times,” he says. After this incident he had to have his left leg amputated because when he arrived at the hospital his injuries were very serious. From that day onwards “I reborn again and a new opportunity was granted to me.”

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU PRACTITIONER, TAEKWONDO, KARATE…
His beginnings in martial arts were when in 2011 he began his training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with sensei Pedro Martínez with which he obtained blue belt. Also that same year he began training Taekwondo with sabonim Eunaldo Jr. and then with the Kyosanim Ivo Ramos de Jesús where he managed to reach the red belt of Taekwondo. However, what really changed his life was karate and discovering the Sensei Oswaldo Scaccio Jr. 3o Dan recognized by the JKA (Japanese Karate Federation). The Sensei Oswaldo went to the person who completely adapted karate to the physical state Jonas.
