PARA-KARATE HUNGARIAN CUP

✴️ The WFK does not still provide in its regulations ALL disabilities… (hello, “physical”… 😭) and counts little or almost nothing with the competitors of Para-Karate to perform the SAME competitions as the rest of karatekas… there’s light at the end of the tunnel 😁😅

OTHER COMPETITIONS OTHER THAN WFK

Other official and serious competitions are held where competitors in addition to knowing each other can measure their level with people with the same disability, without EXCLUDING anyone.

Some will think it’s populism, as always, others, however, they’ll find open windows when they notice the closed doors for their category and even for their own personal/sports projection….

Our friends from Parakarate Klub Europe (Serbia) participated weeks ago in one of them and sent us photos that I gladly hang up for you to see. From left to right in the photos above:

👉Nina Portolan took second place in katas (fifth place wheelchair in the European WFK)
👉Dragana Ugrenovic (visually impaired) took first place in Katas (she is the current European runner-up for Para-Karate by wfK).
👉Stanislav Prvulovia was the first time he made kumite and confirmed that he will continue to do so 😉

PARA-KARATE in BEoGRad open

I was lucky enough to participate in the 2019 Belgrade Championship in September in Belgrade, Serbia, within an inclusive championship in which several sports and their modalities participated. In Madrid the Parainclusive Games were held, they have two editions, but in Belgrade in its six editions, the Serbian city is overturned with functional diversity.

Unbeatable experience in which in addition to great people I found an attentive organization and involving each participant in ALL possible. We saw the participants of Para-Karate perform katas, perform free work, do oyo waza… It reminded me of the good atmosphere that is breathed in another championship that there is in Spain, the Bera Bera Championship of Martial Arts for people with Disabilities, where you feel, at all times, participate and in as at home. Everyone does their job, is valued, applauded… EVERYONE has the right to show their effort…

CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SPAIN OF MARTIAL ARTS ADAPTED FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

I highly recommend, if you can and have the opportunity to meet a new city and very good people, to attend INCLUSIVE events (really) such as the Belgrade Open 2019 framed within the VI International Sports Games for Persons with Disabilities organized by the Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities of Belgrade.

In Spain there are other organizations/associations that carry out spectacular activities and championships for and for the inclusion of people with functional diversity. “Los Antonios” (Club Anpenhi and Dojo Kyushinkan), the Andalusians, before spring usually hold a couple of events, already with international break, where it compensates to participate. Because karate we are all, but karate/para-karate is and should be more than just and only competition, it is the relationship, socialization, emotion, family, meeting people from other places like you, with their concerns, their stories, their problems, their joys…

IN SPAIN THERE ARE CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS THAT ORGANIZE INCLUSIVE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Thank you to everyone who makes the effort to make these championships for people with disabilities. Those who under “submissive obligatory” push participation in other championships, understand nothing…
