GUILLE GONZÁLEZ (8 YEARS OLD)

THANKS TO PARA-KARATE I LEARNED TO SHARE, SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PHYSICAL BENEFITS THAT IT BRINGS ME

Guillermo y su Sensei William

✳️ We love for children to be encouraged to tell us their stories, always encouraged and supported by their parents and Senseis, because they can help and even inspire other young people who live or have experienced similar situations.
This time it is Guillermo, student of William Cantillana (it is our story number 4 of many that we hope to tell thanks to the generosity of those who send them to us to make their situation and their relationship with parakarate visible). # karateisforeveryone #karateisparakarate #parakarateiskarate

My name is Guillermo Gonzáles Alvarez, I am 8 years old and I am 9th kyu of Karate Uechi Ryu.

AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIATION THERAPY I WAS RECOMMENDED TO EXERCISE

When I was three and a half years old, I was diagnosed with retroperitoneal rhabdomyosarcoma. I had a year of treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Pasó el tiempo y comencé con un dolor de piernas que todos aludían que era por el crecimiento, hasta que mi oncóloga me envió al INRPAC (Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación en Chile). There the physical therapist who saw me found everything right, except that I lacked muscle and recommended that my parents start performing adapted sport in the same institute.

I WAS LOOKING FOR AN ADAPTED SPORT AND FOUND IT IN PARAKARATE

It was quite well received by me and I was told about all the sports they teach there and I met the parakarate that I loved. I really like Sensei classes and I want to continue to know and practice this martial art.

THE BENEFITS IN ADDITION TO STRENGTHENING ARE COMPANIONSHIP

I have currently been training for 7 months and the benefits are many. Since I’ve been in parakarate, I’ve been in pain anymore, it’s also “strengthened” my respect and companionship. I learned to share and realize that we are all the same, that it makes no difference whether I’m standing or in a wheelchair. I want to keep parakarateing and when they explained that I could tell if I liked it or not, I didn’t hesitate to tell it***
