22 Jun CÉSAR VIDAL (46 years old)
FROM KUMITE CHAMPION TO A PARAPLEJIA AND WHEELCHAIR ✳️ He started doing Karate at thirteen years of age in Brazil and continues today despite the blow that life gave him a few years ago but that has not stopped him to continue practicing Karate, but this time Adaptive Karate or Para-Karate.

KARATE PRACTITIONER ALL LIFE, NOW HE IS A CHAMPION OF PARA-KARATE
César Vidal do Valle is from the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is 46 years old and has been married to his wife María Helena for fifteen years and they are both parents of a ten-year-old son, Davi Marques.
His history in Karate begins in 1986 (at age 13) and he obtained the black belt twelve years later, in 1998. During that period he participated in several Karate championships and was a personal defense instructor at the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) .
PERSONAL DEFENSE INSTRUCTOR AND KUMITE CHAMPION OF MORE THAN 80 KILOS
However, his dream of traveling the world was much greater and he reached the World Karate Championship (Shotokan Karate International) in Milan, Italy.
That same year in Sergipe, he was Brazilian champion in the adult category in kumite, a black belt of more than 80 kg and he knew Brazil from north to south, always defending his black belt.
AFTER A GREAT FEVER I STAYED PARAPLÉJICO FROM DAY TO MORNING
Everything was normal, her son grew up, he had several plans for the future, until on April 28, 2014, fate played “the biggest and strangest trick that would change our lives forever, a fact that would try to defeat me by ippon”. First he had a very high fever and in less than eight hours he was a paraplegic.
A late report diagnosed him with acute bilateral longitudinal transverse myelitis that reached the fourth thoracic vertebra drying his spinal cord and leaving him in a wheelchair.

I discovered that I was hit by my own cells that attacked each other in a disorderly way! I was in hell for nine months in a hospital bed, but I survived and came back strong, eager, and reinvented myself. –
I HAD TO LEARN TO DO IT ALL AGAIN
Back home in January 2015, I had to relearn everything again. Eating alone, bathing, etc … And it was through social networks that I found the sport again. I met key people for my rehabilitation and returned to the tatami mats. Mention Sensei Oscar Garcia Braga Neto (General Coordinator of Para-Karate of São Paulo FPK), Professor Claudemir dos Santos (Brazilian Navy – CEFAN) and it was there, at the Poliesportivo Amazônia Azul Gymnasium, where I met my coach Sensei Ronaldo Corescha, who believed in my potential and took me to FKERJ, where I was a state champion doing the “JION” Kata.

I HAVE KNOWN GREAT PEOPLE WHO HELP ME IN THIS FIGHT ON WHEELS
In this fight on wheels I made great partners, true brothers, like Thiago Rastel, owner of the adapted taxi company (Trasporte do Cadeirante and creator of the philanthropic project “TI LEVO” that makes my transportation to training and competitions and without forgetting the association with Sensei Rogério Corecha, who provides the CT (Training Center) for my training outside CEFAN.
GREAT SUPPORT FROM YOUR WOMAN, WIFE, FRIEND AND PARTNER
Very grateful to God and to my wife, friend, companion and great support who has always believed in me.

Unfortunately, he was betrayed by the invisible force of a virus that stole the movements of his lower limbs. His wife Maria Helena and his son Davi, fight an incessant battle for the maintenance of their lives.
Congratulations on the willpower to live my brother and brother-in-law.
