08 Aug PAULA ULLOA (39 YEARS OLD)
SHE SHOWS US ENERGY AND POSITIVITY CONSTANTLY ✳️ In the story she sends to us in her life in Chile. There are memorable phrases that I hope will serve as an example for tod@s. Thank you for supporting and sharing, from the outset, the motto and purpose of #karateisforeveryone #karateisparakarate #parakarateiskarate
PARA-KARATE GAVE ME BACK THE JOY AND OPENED A NEW WINDOW FOR ME SO I COULD TRAIN

My name is Paula Ulloa Ramos, I am 39 years old, I am a teacher of Basic Education (primary) and I am currently retired for disability. I started at Karate around 2008 first as a proxy and wife of karateka, gradually I started training, first at home and then in the Dojo. Everything was fine until my illness started to deplete my body, so I had to stop practicing as my mobility was reduced.
ESPONDILITIS ANQUILOSANTE
I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, it is a degenerative and progressive disease that has no cure, begins in the spine and causes rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis throughout the body, affects the sight and organs of the body. In my case also in the digestive system and is painful 24 hours a day, causing pain crises that further incapacitate mobility.

Although this disease attacks each person differently, I am forbidden to jump, run, I find it difficult to lift my legs, walk, sometimes eat and even breathe as my esophagus tightens, due to the progression of my illness. When the doctors showed me this panorama I was plunged into a great depression as I was very active, I loved to dance and teach.
After a while the Parakarate appeared in Chile, proud I say that who brought the Parakarate to Chile is Rafer Rivera González, global karate referee, president of the arbitration commission of Chile, parakarate coordinator of the FDN karate of Chile and the South American WKF, mi Sensei and my husband. It was a dream he had from Paris 2012 but the necessary conditions and support had not been given until 2017 where he was finally able to install the Parakarate in my country.
THE DESTINATION UNITES THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND PLACES US IN THE RIGHT PLACE
I want to make it clear that it was not for me that brought the Parakarate to Chile, just the destination is wonderful, it always unites us to the right people and puts us in the right place.
At the end of 2017 I began timidly to practice Parakarate in a fixed chair as I walk with orthopedic sticks, and the smile returned to me, again I began to dream of putting on goals, life closed my doors and the Karate opened a window through the Parakarate and when I opened it the world was filled with colors and joy.

WITH THE PARAKARATE THE WORLD WAS FILLED WITH COLORS AND JOY
Every time I discovered new movements to be able to do, but I lacked the mobility of the chair and did not have the resources to obtain it, that is how in those things of fate I ran into my friends of Paracare Spa and made me their ambassador by donating me my wonderful sports wheelchair TOP END model ALL SPORT and I was able to train much better and thus be able to project myself to the national championship 2018 (they believed in me before any medal).
I was even offered to go with an invitation to the World Cup in Spain that year and compete for my country, but I did not accept since if I arrive at a world championship it will be the right way, because I do not want them to think that because they are the wife of giving me the passes to a championship or medals. If I win a medal or I can go and represent Chile, it’s because of my abilities, perseverance and effort.
I WANT TO REPRESENT MY COUNTRY FOR MY ABILITIES, PERSEVERANCE AND EFFORT
That’s how I was national champion in December 2018 taking tickets for the Pan American March 2019, a new challenge not without barriers because to be able to go I had to pay for the expenses of the trip and the competition, that is how again the destination introduces me to the right people and the mayor and the councillors of my city (La Serena) subsidize me to reach the Pan American Senior Karate and Parakarate in Panama , where I was Pan American Champion of parakarate women’s wheelchair mode.

Today I look for sponsors to finance my sporting career since my dreams are now bigger, for that I must travel to compete abroad and also to train with the best exponents because to be the best you have to learn and train with the best. That’s why I train every day in a practical and theoretical way. While I replicate the Parakarate in La Serena, helping my Sensei with the classes and we already have a beautiful Dojo that grows more and more every day, the inclusion being our seal.
WHEN A DOOR CLOSES, A WINDOW STARTS TO OPEN…
Sometimes life seems to impose barriers on us that we think we can’t overcome, but when a door closes a window starts to open, it’s only in us to want to open it and fill ourselves with a thousand dreams and adventures again… The sky is not the limit… We’re always going for more and better.
