MARCO SABATINI (61 YEARS OLD)

A LOVER OF ADAPTED MARTIAL ARTS WITH SPINAL CORD INJURY

✳️When you’ve been dedicated to martial arts, accidents don’t take away your desire to get on with it. This is the case of Marco who with great doses of positive energy and humor tells us his story from Cork, Ireland.

HE WAS WORKING IN AN ORPHANAGE IN BOSNIA WHEN HE HAD THE ACCIDENT

**I am and am great 😉 I live in the Republic of Ireland, specifically in West Cork. I have a spinal cord injury and the nerves are damaged. My leg was amputated above my knee after an accident with a landmine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where I worked with children in an orphanage.

I’ve been doing MMA since I was 8 and now 61, I’m still training. So, I’ve been doing it for 50 years. It’s my life. .

I’VE BEEN DOING MMA AND MIXED MARTIAL ARTS FOR FIFTY YEARS

➡️ Realicé JKD (Jeet Kun Do is a martial arts system based on the concepts of life philosophy developed by martial arts master Bruce Lee) and Special Forces Self Defense. I was teaching these martial arts/defense modalities when I was serving in Bosnia.

✳️ The only time I didn’t train was for two years, after my accident, but I continued to exercise with physiotherapy and then went back to MMA (Mixed Martial Arts, a combination of techniques from different martial arts and combat sports).

LIFE RELATED TO MARTIAL ARTS AND MEDITATION

➡️ Also worked 9 years as a bodyguard and more than 6 years as a fitness instructor. I am Catholic/Buddhist and lead a lifestyle related to meditation and always with martial arts. That’s me.”

✳️ IMPORTANT NOTE: Eye women of the world, who is currently looking for a girlfriend/friend/partner with which to share moments and why not… self-defense, martial arts…
